Before Jane (Wrexham Team) joined Passport she was a member of Wrexham Rotary Club

They do a lot of work with the homeless community and started a βJust 50 Projectβ

This is a project asking businesses to donate Β£50 once a year and they raised Β£1000 in just a few months

to help this community

Derwen College Special Needs students used some of this funding to cook a weekly meal for the homeless

Also Wrexham Rotary Club pay a fish and chip shop weekly for 45 sausage and chips meals for the homeless. Great idea

and they are still working hard on their projects.

Additionally,CAIS provide meals using food donated by companies such as TESCOβs

Since lockdown, the Welsh Government have given homeless people temporary accommodation and are hoping that this will continue

However, there is a concern that some people may want to return to the streets.

To be ready in case this happens, Jane has sourced many, many sleeping bags which are being held in storage.

We can only hope that these wonβt be needed but since Jane has joined Passport she has carried on with her projects and also always looks for new ways to help

It is so sad that so many areas of our community need help but Passport is working really hard to help where it is needed most.
